Based on the iconic American game show, Family Feud Canada has brought laughter to Canadian homes since its debut in 2019. The show continues to engage audiences with its dynamic set. Moss LED contributed to the show’s distinct visual identity by providing innovative lighting solutions for several key elements of the set.
Game Board
The interactive Game Board, a signature feature of the Family Feud franchise, was designed with frosted plexiglass light boxes around the perimeter as well as the border of the large central monitor. To achieve the desired lighting effects, we installed two rows of our FlexLED 60 RGBA 24V (All-In-One Diode) and one row of FlexLED 96 RGB+W 24V 5600K, all powered by VentiDrives. This combination allowed for optimal output. Additionally, we integrated our 12V RGBW Pixel Dots, which were programmed using our PixlArt 416 controller to create dynamic lighting effects during gameplay. Over five seasons of installation, strike, and storage, these Pixel Dots have proven to be reliable with minimal maintenance.
Contestant Podiums
Each contestant’s podium featured Neon FlexLED V3 RGBW 5600K on the front face, while the tops were frosted plexiglass light boxes lit with FlexLED 60 RGBA 24V (All-In-One Diode) and controlled by VentiDrives. This setup allowed individual podiums to change colours, highlighting which contestant buzzed in during the game.
Floor Lighting
The stage floor, encircling the contestant podiums, was illuminated using a single row of FlexLED 96 RGB+W 24V 5600K. Installed within a trough beneath frosted plexiglass, the lighting was controlled by VentiDrives to create an engaging, vibrant stage presence.
Stair Lighting
Behind the contestant podiums, the stairs were outlined with our DiffuseFLEX™ LED RGB+W (5500k), also controlled by our rental VentiDrives. This product has been consistently re-used for five seasons, requiring only the replacement of the VHB backing for each annual installation.
Contestant Arches
The arches located behind the contestants were constructed with frosted plexiglass light boxes and illuminated by FlexLED 60 RGBA 24V, offering full control of each panel through our rental VentiDrives. The ease of installation was enhanced by our 5-Pin extension cabling, which streamlined the setup process.
Host/Contestant Podium
The host podium lighting mirrored that of the contestant podiums, utilizing the same NeonFlex and FlexLED systems. However, our Dodici-LED DMX 12-Channel Dimmer was utilized instead of VentiDrives. Both the Dodici and VentiDrive feature identical gamma curve dimming and frequency settings, ensuring consistent lighting across set elements.
Curved Headers
Located behind the Game Board to emphasize the set’s scale, the Curved Headers were illuminated with FlexLED 60 RGBA 24V (All-In-One Diode) and controlled by VentiDrives. Several of these VentiDrives were securely mounted on CBC studio batons using trigger clamps, a versatile accessory that allowed for quick and efficient hanging on studio pipes.
